Rocky Mountain Calvary Chapel has leased 3,000 square feet at 4345 Beverly St. for a youth center.
In an effort to reach out to economic stimulus-empowered first-time homebuyers, G.J. Gardner, a custom home building company represented locally by franchisees Dennis and Marsha Weets, has signed a marketing agreement with New Home Associates of Colorado, headed by Bill Kuemmerle.
G.J. Gardner Colorado-Wyoming franchisor Brook Swientisky said the agreement was based, in part, on Kuemmerle's 23 years in the business, 10 of which are with custom home builders.
During 2008, he said, the company sold one of every five new homes, or $50 million worth new homes in El Paso County
"Bill's extensive background, combined with the company's impressive track record of selling new homes, makes this agreement especially advantageous to the first-time home buyer," Swientisky said.
The alliance will support Colorado Springs area franchise G.J. Gardner Homes - Falcon, which has been owned and operated by the Weets for the past year. The Weets also have purchased exclusive rights for G.J. Gardner Homes for the East Black Forest, Falcon, Peyton, and Calhan areas.
The Pikes Peak region franchise expects to build 12 homes during 2009, up from two homes completed during 2008.
Both Swientisky and Kuemmerle credit "an unprecedented alignment of historically low interest rates, low building material costs and the $8,000 First Time Home Buyer's Tax Credit" for its new marketing alliance, even in the face of recession.
