Nicaraguan Kids in Need 

 

Executive Summary
Description: Our mission is to provide food, shelter and education to kids in need in Nicaragua.

Nicaragua, Central America is said to be the next poorest county in the Western hemisphere after Haiti. Nicaraguan Kids in Need will be focusing on the Atlantic Coast of Nicaragua – from Punta Gorda up the Miskito Coast to Peurto Cabezas and encompassing the two Corn Islands, Little Corn Island and Great Corn Island. The Corn Islands are small Islands approximately 40 miles off the east coast of Nicaragua.

As Nicaragua is one of the poorest countries in Central America many children are forced to work rather than go to school and many still live in unfit shanties, whilst others seek refuge under broken down cardboard boxes. Children go around bare foot, in dirty torn clothes, eating food that most of us would not even feed the dog.

Does it have to be like this? The answer is no, together we can make a difference.

The Nicaraguan Kids in Need mission is to be the difference.

We are not looking to just provide food and some shelter for today or tomorrow, but to provide longer term stability into the lives of children.

We hope to buy land, where communities can come together and grow produce.

We aim to provide seeds and tools to help establish crops.

We hope to provide education so that children can learn how to survive as well as read and write.

Nicaraguan Kids in Need wants to help sustain a healthier future for children.

The bigger picture – we would like to set up a Children’s Home to provide long term care for those that need it.

Seeking Funds
Funding Sought: We are currently seeking funds to purchase computers and internet connection for a school in Bluefields Nicaragua.

We are also purchasing pens, pencils, crayons etc for each individual child.
